  • We now have a nice airbrush with a 4oz jar underneath that works with a compressor with only a 1 gallon tank….spray all day long with it but admittedly, it would take all day to do a large project….although I did a Crosley radio cabinet with Bin White Shellac and it works like a champ.

  • HVLP guns that work off a compressor take high pressure air and through expansion inside the gun, convert it to a lower pressure so it really comes down to volume and how much air the gun consumes. We don’t advocate using a small compressor with these guns for continuous operation but you could probably get bursts of enough volume of air to spray smaller projects. You would just have to try it with the smaller compressor. It should work fine on the larger compressor.

  • DONT SEE HOW A SMALL PANCAKE COMPRESSOR WILL SUPPLY ADAQUATE VOLUME FOR THESE GUNS WHICH TYPICALLY REQUIRE 6 -8 CFM

MY 25 GALLON 4.5 HORSE COMPRESSOR IS RATED AT 8 CFM AT 40 PSI!!!!! AND THATS AT THE TANK!!! BY THE TIME IT PASSES THROUGH THE HOSE AND REACHES THE GUN ITS ONLY SEEING 5 OR 6 CFM!!!!!!

    WILL SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS!!!

I HAVE SEEN THIS IN ADS AND IN THE PAPER WORK SUPPLIED WITH MANY HVLP GUNS( I.E. WILL WORK WITH 2 HP COMPRESSORS) JUST DONT SEEM POSSIBLE

  • HOW LONG YOU BEEN SPRAYING????? YOU DO NOT KNOW THE PROPER NAMES OF THE BASIC PARTS OF A SPRAY GUN!!! THE PIECE YOU CALLED A FLUID NOZZLE IS IN FACT THE AIR CAP!!!!

  • I have $300-$700 per unit HVLP that are truly no better than this unit from WC.... I have been spraying finish Professionally for many many years and will never use a brush on method again for anything but small or detail work..

  • @Geissler745 this gun has a 1.4 needle/nozzle which will handle most finishes, with out thinning, heavy fluids like some water base finishes, can be thinned about 10% , very heavy fluids like paints, you may need to go to a larger needle/nozzle like a 2.0 ... and open up the fluid adjustment ...

  • @Geissler745 you diont have to m but its a good idea, you can get filters that go right at the gun, which is better, because compressed air can ahve moisture in it, the filter removes it.....

  • do you need to have a air filter on the compressor?

  • do you have to thin it out?
