  • It is possible but not likely , Napoleon himself said that if you want to become a great commander you should study again and again the Campaigns of Caesar , Alexander, Hannibal , Teurrene , Frederick the Great and Gustavus adolphus but he never mentioned Sun Tzu, but he might have read it who knows.

  • @Napoleontas Your right. In addition was "The art of war" at Napoleons time translated by a Missionary so it may have been wrong translated and made the book apear less profesjonal.

  • @VictumRoManius Who knows ,but it could be possible

  • @VictumRoManius It could be possible , who knows

  • "When capable, apear incompetent."

    - Sun Tzu.

It is believed that Napoleon did read the book "The art of war" by Sun Tzu.

In his early years he was a reader of everything military.

  • @Napoleontas This might be because, unlike all the other figures mentioned, Sun Tzu was not a military commander with great victories to his name. Tzu, while a general, is remembered more as a philosopher of war than as a tactical or strategic commander.
