@zeppmusic thanks... i'll keep that in mind... one more thing: do you know of any banjo makers who's instruments are less expensive? i've a limited budget, but id don't want to go with one of the factory/mass-produced banjos...

@mandohiker Quite a few! I rarely stray from a half dozen or so these days, but there is a list of 124 of them on the BANJO-L website. I can't post a URL here, but it's an org: banjo-l Follow the links to 5-string tunings.
