Gottit - 1st verse (pity I can't find the tune):
Comes, at times, a stillness as of even,
Steeping the soul in memories of love,
As when the glow is sinking out of heaven,
As when the twilight deepens in the grove.
Comes at dawn the sound of many voices,
As when the waves break lightly on the shore;
As when at dawn the feathered choir rejoices,
Singing aloud because the night is o'er.

The tune reminds me of an old hymn, "Comes at times a stillness as of even", in which the first 4 lines of each verse are in F-minor and the last four in F-major. Good tune it was, but doesn't seem to be in any of the recent hymn books. Another sad loss was the tune Vision for "Mine eyes have seen the golry of the coming of the Lord" - by Walford Davies if I remember rightly.
