A crowd of about 500 people gathered in front of the Queen Elizabeth hotel today in Montreal to protest war criminal George W Bush's arrival in the city. The former President and sanctioner of torture, unlawful detention and extraordinary rendition gave a speech to an audience of about 1000 people who each payed $400 to listen to him (imho they got ripped off). The protest was relatively peaceful. The line of long-suffering riot cops took it in stride as they were beaned in the head with old shoes. Five members of Echec a la Guerre got themselves cuffed and stuffed for trying to penetrate the police line. There was no brutality, no tasering, tear gassing or beating of any sorts on the part of the cops. Oh, Canada! Land of the polite.

  • Bracing protest. Good to see. It's naive, however, not to realize that George Bush was just a puppet and enabler and not the real moving power behind 9-11 and the 9-11 wars. It seems the liberal types never look deeper than Bush. Bush was a complete idiot and puppet, and his policy was dictated by others, just as his speeches were written by others. (As with Obama.)

  • Yeah, he's a puppet. But what are we gonna do? Arrest the Rockefellers and Rothschilds? Probably should try, but good luck.

  • and P.S The guys dying in Afghanistan for the "honor" of it ? You fucking moron,it's a vain attempt to bring your values to another part of the world who doesn't want you there. The Canadian soldiers live in villages with the same people who won't even warn them about road side bombs, yeah that's honorable.Bring these soldiers home, they don't deserve to be treated like this,& BTW,the bottom line is the poppy fields, drugs make more money than working at a Macdonald's just ask the Jane/Finch crowd.

  • 'if the USA, we would all be rubber bulleted, tasered, and teargassed by now.'

Wow, I'm no fan of Bush nor do I live in the US, but even I know that that's bull. I give this video 1 star for rubbish.

  • I see the point of the people who are protesting but come in use your brain for a minute.

Primo: Would it be a good idea to arrest a politician from the United States here in Canada? That would strongly deteriorate the US and Canadian relationship.

Secondo: Bush is not alone in this conspiracy of 9-11. There is a big bunch of assholes behind him and it's them who deserve to be punished.

And finally: Your wasting your time cuz we all know Georges Bush wont go to jail so please get a life.

  • she's oh so right if you want anything done theres know point burning things and acting like a blasted fool in the streets

  • @thetruthergirls there's absolutely nothing wrong with torturing terrorists. i think it's much a bigger war crime to allow them to continue to kill and terrorize americans rather than use even lame and ineffective 'torturing' methods such a waterboarding. i would support ANY kind of inhumane torture methods that they should use on these bastards.

  • @lordofwarvogel You're an idiot. Why do you think going to war in Iraq was protecting my country?

  • holocaust is a lie

  • The USA is nothing but a proxy war machine for Israel.

  • In a few years it will be Obama taking his place as the hated president. It's not against the presidents that people should protest against but the system that puts them there and the shadow government which remains unchanged regardless of who wins the elections. It's like protesting against the hand that killed instead of the brain that thought of and controlled the hand that killed.

  • They should protest Clinton not Bush.
