http://www.BirdsAreGreat.com: Feeding Baby Parrotlets. these little birds are between 3 weeks and 4 weeks old. Keep in mind the direction of your syringe...when the baby faces you, you will point the tip to your left in the babies mouth. Make sure the formula is 107 degrees. You can keep the formula warm by placing the ceramic cup with the formula in...into a larger ceramic cup with hot water in it (ie: a double boiler of sorts)...make sure to stir it well between syringe fillings to keep from having cold and too hot spots.

  • Yes! Heat is CRUCIAL! Without heat the food in their crop (that little bubble) will not digest. Also, that little bubble (the crop, where the food is stored while it's being digested)..shouldn't have too much air in it. If there is air, perhaps you should check our technique. I highly suggest you do a bit of research as making little mistakes (ie: not making sure food mixture is at 107 degress and maintaining that) can easily kill the little birds and/or cause permanent damage. GOOD LUCK!!:)

  • One more thing: make sure that their is some source of humidity in their area. A soaked sponge placed where they can't get to it helps maintain humidity. A great little thing is a little digital temperature/humidity reader. They are great! You want to be careful of things being too hot as well. In yoru research, I'm sure you'll find the temperature requirements for each stage of the chicks development...heed that and you'll be fine! :-P

  • @loungo1567

    They range from $150-$275

depending on the color you want.

  • How much are parrotlets usually sold for im thinking about buying one?

  • at what age do baby parrotlets wean because my parents wont let me take care of baby parrotlets if it takes more than 4 weeks p.s. the baby parrotlets already have thier wings the pet shop owner told they still need to be hand fed

  • You would probably want to feed them every 2-3 hours. It depends on their age.
