Correction : Joe Logan now works for the Ohio Environmental Council. The video incorrectly includes text which states that he works for the Ohio Farmers Union.
He served as director of governmental affairs for the union from 2006 to 2008.Ohio voters will decide on Issue 2 in the Nov 3 elections. If passed, the ballot initiative will amend the Ohio constitution so as to establish a 13 member Livestock Care Standards Board.
Proponents say Issue 2 will promote safe, affordable, local food, and the well-being of Ohios farm animals. Opponents say its a corporate power grab that will, in reality, impede improvements to farm animal welfare, while promoting the interests of corporate factory farms over those of small to medium-sized farms.
`@ 5:53 the NPR rep steals the floor, "NOTE" his expression @ 1:01, @1:09 she trys to regain the floor but she is talked over and her concerns never made it to the citizens. (quash the controversy 101) I imagine she would like other animals to be cared for as well. NOT in a "World according to Monsanto."

Thats the point- the demand for livestock is a dying- that's why most livestock producers are setting up shop in other countries and creating a demand in cultures that did not previously consume it. People are learning livestock is unnecessary, unhealthy, unsustainable and cruel.
