The Guitar Wheel is a simple little device that helps musicians find the major, minor and diminished chords fingerings for every key, understand inversions, names of degrees and intervals and enharmonic equivalents, and transpose songs and arrangements from one key to another. • I wrote to Guitar Wheel guys through my space & they were really cool. I just said that I thought this product really rocked.

  • The easiest way is like this. Say you have a 4 chord song C - Am - F - G. Take and write out the scale with numbers over them like this:

    C D E F G A B

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Then take the key you want to transpose it to, say D, and do the same thing with it.

    D E F G A B C

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7

    Then match the numbers up. The song is 1 - 6m - 4 - 5. So transposed to D that would be D - Bm - G - A

    And in E would be E - C#m - A - B. Just remeber the semitones between E-F and B-C.

    Hope this helps.

  • I know lots of chords but not keys. Where can I find something that will show me what chords to play in which keys? I just want to play songs at church. Don't want to be Eddie Van Halen or somebody similar. Any suggestions? The GW looks way too complicated for what I want.
