  • I would never leave a dog alone with a child. Ever. I am very close in this video and I was watching the whole time.

  • @Stacey80620 You have a great dog..from the looks of it, it can be your baby's mentor :D

  • @chickenpax1 Rosie was a great dog. I am sad to say she left us not long after this video was taken in the summer of 2009. Megan however has grown up to be a great dog friend and has already raised 2 litters of puppies and is working on her third for after the first of the year. She loves the dogs.

  • Thank you!!

Rosie was almost 10 years old when she had to become accustomed to a two legged roommate. She seems to have adjusted well.

Megan is starting to learn their names and call them by name as well.

  • Our kids love our Giants and vice - versa.

No stranger will get a chance to approach the kids.

    Giants know their job.

  • @Stacey80620 So sorry for your loss. Thanks for posting.

  • Its funny I have a miniature and a two giants, and the giants actually get along better with small children than the miniature one does.

  • Schnauzers in general are a good family breed like many other dogs I just have a special place in my heart for these gusy :)

  • @maexs201 Pride? You mean pack. :P:P But you are right, Giant Schnauzers (not mini's) are fantastic around children. So long as they have been trained and exercised :P. The only issue I find with Schnauzers is their natural attraction to using teeth in order to communicate. It's hard to break that cycle, but once you do they are very rewarding animals ^_^.

  • @Rebapep That is because it's a mini. Small dogs rarely get a long with children. You should get a large breed if you plan on having kids.

  • Giant breeds are the best breeds ever! They play nice and they are soo gentle! I have a great dane and the only problem I have is when she's backing up, she should beep like trucks do...lol! but other than that she's our baby! Plays nice with the kids, neighbors and other dogs as well... nothing bad to say!

  • Love those eyebrows!!

  • i was waiting for the dog to say..... I understand -. -

  • My mini Schnauzer got scared of my little niece because she was wearing a snow suit ...and she bit her cheek..We were holding the dog but she just slip out of our hands so quickly !!! Since that day , my dog can't stand young kids.
