Who, WHO really cares if such a world-class singer is singing using a score??? As far as I am concerned, with a voice, muiscality and a carisma like that he could be singing with his ipod on while eating crackers!! Besides, let's face it, those are glorious beautiful songs but not really standard repertoire.

it is a song by Tadeusz Baird to William Shakespeare sonnet
Sonnet 56 Sweet love renew thy force, be it not said
Sweet love, renew thy force; be it not said
Thy edge should blunter be than appetite,
Which but to-day by feeding is allay'd,
To-morrow sharpen'd in his former might:
So, love, be thou; although to-day thou fill
Thy hungry eyes even till they wink with fullness,

what is wrong with you people? At least he can read music not like some top class singers:-)I think with a book he shows professionalism.Anybody can repeat after a recording!
-
even though hes holding the music, he still sounds better than any of us would if we had a year to prepare it

I don't see anything wrong in singing with the notes in front of you. How are all the requiems sung for example? He's great he found time to sing there.

it looks like he took the notes an hour before the performance and he is singing almost "a vista"! but honestly, i've heard him live with other song repertoire and it wasn't anything special. he is my idol but only in operas roles.

well he shouldn't have included the sonnets if he was going to use the music. nice to sing for a hospital, but he should respect his audience no matter who it is.
Mr. Kwiecien was asked to sing some songs for hospital in Poland.(something like charitable recital). He didn't have enough time to prepare I think, but only these 4 sonnets are sung from the music.
