When Robert Johnson was recorded, in order to fit the material on 78 rpm disks, the recordings were sped up by 20%. This gave them an unnatural sound. I have corrected this. Reducing the recording's speed by 20%, I've restored Robert Johnson's truly original sound so what you hear in this video is the real deal, the way he sounded naturally, his actual performance, at the speed and pitch he really sang and played the song.

  • ON SOME RECORDINGS I THINK THAT IT WAS SPED UP BUT NOT THIS ONE...CHECK THE GUITAR PITCH WITH A GUITAR TUNER AND UNDERSTAND WHAT TUNING HE IS PLAYING IN AND YOU WILL HAVE THE ANSWERS. ON SOME SONGS WE KNOW HE IS USING OPEN A TUNING AND THE PLAYBACK IS HALF A TONE OR SO TOO HIGH BUT ONLY ON A COUPLE OF SONGS.
