I say you shouldn't smack your child. Use your own judgement. after all it is you that is raising the child. not me.

I personally think that smacking is a quick fix that doesn't actually help children develop morals at all.

you should never hit anybody and certainly not your own children. THere is no reason in the world to ever do this. Theirs different ways of smacking kids,children who grew up between the 20's to 80's are decent human beings, look at the kids today (majority), kids need a clump, kids are over protected these days by stupid mothers who wrap their kids up in cotton wool, you don't have to beat the shit out of a kid for a kid to learn a lesson, a slap round the legs will stop a kid from being naughty,and make the kid think about being a little shit in the near future, THIS is what is wrong with society today.

I agree, parents should be educated on how to effectively discipline there defenseless children other than raising there hands. I was smacked and I can't remember one reason why! Only that I had been smacked.
