Recorded in 1921

The record is attributed to Harry Anthoney and James F. Harrison but Anthoney is really John Young and Harrison is Frederick Wheeler.

  • LOVELY.

And what an amazing quality for a recording nearly years 100 old.

  • I knew that you would enjoy this one. I will be posting the other side this week and it is a beautiful duet by male and female vocalists.

  • Beautiful words and beautiful singing.

The rose window of the Grace Methodist Church reminds me of the one which was a lovely feature of a now demolished Methodist Church in my home town in Scotland.

I very much like these inspirational hymns, and I thank you for sharing this one.

  • I knew you would enjoy this one Corrie. I will be posting the other side too and it is a beautiful piece too.

  • What a fabulous tramsfer job you have done!!! Brilliant quality! I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Frederick Wheeler before. Nice looking chap, wasn't he? Thanks for this perfect gem.

  • Thank you for the kind words. Hope you enjoyed it.

  • I love these older Protestant hymns, sung with the sincerity these gentlemen convey.

  • I thought it would be a good Sunday song.

  • I have been talking with a very knowledgeable friend and he tells me this was a reissue done in 1921. It appears that the record labels frequently used the original record number for the reissues. I figured something was wrong when I saw the Victor site had this listed as Mr & Mrs Wheeler. They did the original recording and the site is not up to 1921 yet, so the remake was not listed.

  • A very good song for a Sunday afternoon
