Version plus lyrique des The McCalmans sur le Skye Boat Song! J'en oublie presque la tristesse des airs du gentil DAOUST!Pardon!

Yes!!!!!

I don't usually like vocals on this song, but those are unbelievably beautiful harmonies.

This is one of the few recording in which you can hear the desperation and resignation to the failure of the Jacobite cause and Bonnie Prince Charlie’s ultimate failure to ascend to the thrown. It is a subtly mournful melody befitting the words, which many recordings miss.

Lovely lovely version ! I have never heard that intro before. Gorgeous harmonies ! :)

Ooh just found my beer glass from the festival. It was 1976 not 1978 :)

I fell in love with The McCalmans in the 70's. My husband at the time was given permission to link into their sound system to record them when they performed at the Deanwater in Stockport. I still have that tape and I fear if I can't find a way to transfer for it to MP3 it will disappear forever, which would be criminal as it is unique.
I still remember catching Hamish when he fell out of the beer tent at the 1978 Cambridge folk festival. Lovely lads that I'm proud to have met.
