Meet The Thatchers!
Fogey, Mark and Albert! after 3 years as comics they are finally animated (all be it for an assemberly) ;)
PLOT
The Thatcher Family (no relation to the old PM) have been asked by the Westlands school to present an assemberly as a tutor group dont want to do anything ... (well you get the idea)
So after being given an out line (It must contain the message of materialism) The family work together to create a fun and more entertaining assemberly then normally shown in school.
Written in 2 days by Sam Marshall and Jon Gransden (myself)
Voiced and audio edited in one night by the amazing Ben Rudman
Animated in just over a week for a deadline for the date to be shown in assemberly by Me.
However due to sending problems and then the fact the assemberly keeps being put back this animation hasnt yet been shown infront of its intended audience. :C
ABOUT THE THATCHERS
Created by me in 2007 Fogey & Mark made there way into a short lived comic series, written by Ryan Luker and Tom McShain. (Ryan was the guy who named Fogey, Fogey!)
Not long after the first issue I added the 3rd member of the family (Distant Relation) Albert to the mix, but he never made it to a finished comic.
Over the following years I did try once or twice to bring them to the screen, even an attempt at "The Thatchers Movie" to be written by Tom McShain, but the film never got finished.
In 2008 I met youtuber and voice artist Ben Rudman, who has very kindly and brilliantly suplied the voice to the main cast of the show (so effectivly he talks to himself though out the show). Then in 2009 I started using Flash and soon I lernt the skills needed to animate my cartoons, and The Thatchers became a true possibility once again :)
Iv been working on the series with Ben and new co-writer Sam Marshall to create funny and entertaining scripts for audiences to enjoy.
The Thatchers never changed there Design scince I drew them in a science lessen in year 9, they always looked ugly and slightly simpson-y, and I was happy with that.
However after I animated this assemberly, I went on Holiday and In my mind I didnt (and still dont) feel happy with there movment on screen, they look & feel a'bit too "clunky" maybe it was because of the speed this was animated in? anyway whilst on holiday, I drew and drew some more (a pass tiem of mine C;) and found myself thinking that Fogey, Mark and Albert could do with a re-imagening.
and it wasnt long befor I knew Id done the right thing, The Thatchers have now indeed been Re-Designed and look rather different, but this animation still stands and will always as somewhat a pilot.
If people really like this animation, and find it funny, when expect the thatchers to return very soon indeed!
