Governor Eminent Domain Perry, there must be some mistake. My property taxes didn't go down, they went up. But, you're damn fine looking man.

Debra Medina is right. This is a freedom issue. As long as the government can take my property for a tax debt, regardless of how long it has been in my family, or can take it because they can earn more revenue by giving it to a foreign enterprise, I don't really own my property!  I have to lease the privilege of maintaining it from the government.

Medina is right! We should not have property tax and own our property. Perry lied, my taxes tripled! we should have a sales tax, then illegals and carrear welfare recipients would pay thier fair share. Actually the state would come out ahead.

the state sets the minimum tax rate for the schools, not locally and if you abolish property taxes all together the price of everything would go down. how is taxing a small business on their inventory and tools encouraging business growth? am i missing something?

Our property taxes did go down.They raised the value of our property, and we still pay less taxes than we did.

Property taxes are collected locally, then sent to the STATE from the local tax districts, so there is no real local control of the money! The state sends the money to Federal Dept. of Education and they take a share as bribe money to the states and to local programs. Not only does the state control your property tax, it controls the USE of your land, and the VALUE of your land. That's too much control!
