Pastor john piper is an anointed man of God. His teachings about Christian suffering have had shed light to the practicality and realities of unforeseen circumstances that befall the righteous ones. Thanks john for your hard works

@anamasteos This is very interesting. Thank you for sharing that info and God bless.

Did you know there is a part of your brain that never sleeps, so you do hear the sermon even if the relay center of your brain chooses not to send the info forward to your frontal cortex. Who knows what effect this can have but God who is able to do anything. It is better to fall asleep to a sermon than Fox news. God Bless the hearing of the word. Peace in Christ our Lord.

@anamasteos I purposely turn them on t fall asleep to.We use to fall asleep to the tv with FOX News or something on. We listen to and watch these all the time, just usually not the longer ones, I watch those as I am falling asleep. It sometimes takes 5 nights to finish a sermon.

@n8ssavedbygrace I felt the same way about Piper but we should about any teacher new to us, right? My husband is also made to listen to sermons the same way. He falls asleep while I hang on every word. It makes me feel discouraged but at least he is under the hearing of the word. I bet there are many more folks like us listening to sermons at night. Praise God and pray we never lose our "rights" to hear ministers like this.

A friend of mine turned me on to Piper a couple months ago after a discussion we had about John MacArthur. I didn't like Piper at first, for some reason. Now, every night I fall asleep to either him, MacArthur or Paul Washer preaching on Youtube from my laptop on my lap in bed. Sometimes my wife is awoke at 4:00 am by preaching coming from my side of the bed. It use to bother her, I think she enjoys it now.

Part 1 is outstanding, but pt. 2 is uncommendable. Piper believes Elihu spoke correctly about Job, quoting only ch. 33, vv. 9-12, as if Elihu was correct in protesting Job's innocence, and that Job was wrong in claiming it. In chaps. 34-36, which Piper skips over entirely, Elihu repeats the same garbage as Job's 3 friends (see 34:5-8, 11, 21-22, 26-27, 33 and esp. 36-37; 35:12; 36:6-13, 17, 21, NIV). Consider 36:17, "But now you are laden with the judgment due the wicked..." Piper is wrong here.
This was a powerful (and long) message I got to hear. If you have the time, it is well worth the listen... Part 1 is being uploaded right now as well. Not sure why I just put part 2 up first. :-)
