  • when do you use a basketweave stitch and when do you use a continental stitch???

I can see from what you describe that large open areas are done with basketweave do you use continental for small areas (eg say on a canvas there is a small horses ear. Do you do this with a continental stich or basketweave stitch???

Hi and thanks for your comment. Yes, usually you would use a continental stitch in smaller areas like you describe. There is also more information about this on our website under Basic Needlepoint Stitches

  • Excellent video! Thanks for sharing.

  • i have to say this is a most frustrating video. i'm a beginner and i feel like this video is like "and you do this stitch and then this one next to it and there you go!". also, the shaky camera work is maddening. it's not enough rows and it's too fast for a beginner to learn.

  • Okay so this is probably a stupid question, but lets say once I finish the design, I can sew it onto a piece of cotton clothing, right? How would I do that exactly...
