Hurricane [Castle//Caskett]

My tribute to the episode To Love and Die in L.A.

So, I rewrote this to where Royce's murder is kinda non-existent. Instead Castle leaves Beckett a letter at the precinct that he's leaving until the fall to oversee the last months of filming and production of the Nikki Heat movie. Beckett isn't going to let last summer repeat itself. So, she hops a plane and heads out to Cali, chasing after the man that stole her heart.

Castle discovers that Beckett is a passenger on the same plane as he and asks that she be moved up to first class with him. While she is annoyed at him for pulling this stunt of his, she takes this time to talk to him, trying to gauge where she stands. They get off in Cali with the agreement that they will try to work things out as not just partners, but also boyfriend and girlfriend.

But murder refuses to take a break. A suspect from a murder that the 12th precinct had be working on, escapes out to Cali, leaving Castle and Beckett to hunt them down, seeing as the LAPD isn't willing to cooperate. The duo get caught breaking and entering at one point, but walk away with a warning. They end up getting their man in the end anyways.

During the hunt though, Castle and Beckett basically destroy all the walls that lie between them, making a relationship between them completely possible. Kate will be the first to admit that she is willing to make that jump.

So, with the murderer caught, Beckett takes a chance and asks Castle to come back to New York with her when she leaves. Castle, in a small state of shock agrees.

Thus, we get to the end and we see Beckett looking over the letter, smiling, because like always, Castle has such a way with words.
