http://3DRad.com - In this update I wanted to smooth out the AI, and work with 2 collision objects per vehicle. The car objects ONLY collide with the ground. Then I attached a simple 3 sphere mesh (you can see the cage in the video) that collides with walls and the other simple sphere attachments. This way you avoid the annoying issue of wheels touching and causing the vehicle to react violently.

I removed the collision objects off of the player vehicle for now, to focus on locking a AI and collision. Making sure it is optimized for older computers.

Step 1: Lock in Collision design.
Step 2: Lock in player speed/handle.
Step 3: Lock in AI driving style.
Step 4: Determine How/If collision can be used.
Step 5: Create Final Art for Track & Trucks.
Step 6ish, figure out what I want to do with this!?

  • maybe im forgetting something when i set a car for AI but when i do the car just follows the same path as i do

  • @Amazinglybeastified that is good. Note, they will look like they are just following the path, but they will avoid you and other ai cars if set in the AI controller. You can also update the path offset so the cars don't look so straight on the path, to give it some randomness.

  • @Amazinglybeastified you have to go on the car that will follow the path and uncheck boxes: Throttle, Reverse, Turn Left, Right and if you checked the box brake uncheck it :) hope i helped you :)

  • @screenracer the car literally follows the same path as mine.. by that i mean when i drive my car it does the same turns at the same time and all that.. i want it to follow a set course or chase me or dodge me or something but im not sure how to make it do that
