Of course no offense bro. This is just a good online discussion about a great anime, and I did respond because I wanted to talk about the show. Online there is nothing to portay my tone of voice or emphasis on certain parts sentances so this conversation could be easily to read as a hostile one but my intentions weren't ever hostile but informative. either way you may be right about G Gundam's name's origin. I may do some research If I feal like it and have time.

Alright man, sorry if I sounded hostile. But I still think G stands for God because it seems like all the Gundam series' name would include the name of the main Gundam of that particular series. (i.e. Turn A, Zeta, ZZ, F91, Victory and so on)

Even though I kind of understand why the Americans would change the name, it still kind of seen like a stupid name. (No offense? lol)

Actually bro I don't know what G Gundam stands for. All I know is that there is a list of gundam names that were translated differently to be more appropriate for a children's show. The makers of the show didn't want to deal with calling anything god or devil or anything else that may offend anyone. Even though I don't believe in whole heartedely in political correctness for that reason I do believe in sticking true to what was in the show.

Well ok, it just sounds so weird to me though. I mean the series is called Mobile Fighter G Gundam, G Gundam = God Gundam right?

The literal translation of the japanese name is devil gundam but in the English dub they chose to call it dark gundam much like they also chose to burning gundam over god gundam. I watched it in English and I call it what it is called in the show.

Yeah the thing I hope they don't butcher is G-Gundam lines and voice acting like in the 1st one.
