I had the chance to talk to a German WWII vet who lives here in the States, and he told me how the Germans had more respect for the U.S. because in a fight we were their equal, and a very stubborn foe to fight. He also told me that he hated going up against the M-1 Gerand that we used

My grandpa was there he was a glider for the army air force. the only story he ever told was he got shot in the leg though the glass underlining of the plane it didn't even make it though his pants. he's lucky to be alive because most gliders died.
