See, the problem i'm having is it registers but the sound doesn't come out of it I have a platronics USB stereo headset that is supposed to be for PS3 and PC so hmm not sure man help a bro out

@MrHermanmenendez The best bet you have is to route the audio through your laptop. There's no real good way to use headsets with a usb cable as their only connector.

Why couldn't we just plug the headphones into the same USB as the mic? Instead of using the red and white cables to plug the colours into, don't have that.

@aniqahpunkrocker You could, but then you'd only have chat audio, and not game audio. Right now, the PS3 does not have the option to output game audio through a usb headset.

To those who are asking about HDMI, you still need to have the red/white adapter. In your sound/audio settings however, there is an option to select multi-output. this will output your audio through the hdmi AND the red/white cables.
