You sound great! Inspiring.

Latin is harder than you think. It's all in the clave rythem. Listen and develope your ideas from that.

Hey man nice playing, I love to call this tune at a gig but I usually take it a little faster. During the first 2 courses you can push you ideas way out there because the bridge is so sweet sounding on this tune. Good job, where are you located at?

Glad you enjoyed it.
I am located in Texas City, TX about 30 miles south of Houston.
I enjoy play latin tunes that go to swing on the bridge and this allows for that.

You rock man. You sound like Chet.

Thanks Steve,
I am working on some more pieces to put up but just haven't had much time lately.
Chet is one of my favorite players so you hit it right on.

A jazz trumpet player that resists the unsavory urge to puke out a bunch of cracked and wailed high notes! Maturity is on your side, I enjoy your cool approach. If the kids I play with could know what you know...

Thanks for the nice comments. I think there is a place for high notes but in creating an improvisation for me is being able to control what I play and try to develop my ideas and still include some of the origional melody along with it to tie my solo to the tune.
I try to get my younger students to develop a solo like they are writing a paragraph in English. Melody is opening statement, then develop that melody bring it to a climax and bring the solo to a final statement. At least I try.Sparky
