Bollox! I made a horlocks of the caption! Well what do expect when you`re trying to put something together this quickly! Effin` hell, never again!......I had already downloaded this lovely song a while ago,but looking at a superb friends upload "I want to come home" I felt that I would like to promote Paul`s new song from the Miramax movie EVERYBODY`S FINE as well. Not a patch on the other video, but I rushed it.50 minutes or so isn`t very long to make one of these! I hope you enjoy it.
I WANT TO COME HOME
The following is copied and pasted from another description of the song and movie,
Paul McCartney has written an original song, (I Want To) Come Home," for the upcoming Miramax Films release Everybody's Fine, starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell.
After attending an early screening of the film, McCartney felt a deep connection to the material and began writing the song that very night.
Everybody's Fine, written and directed by Kirk Jones ("Waking Ned Devine"), is the story of a widower (Robert De Niro) who embarks on an impromptu road trip to reconnect with each of his grown children only to discover that their lives are far from picture perfect.
Collaborating with composer Dario Marianelli on the orchestrations, McCartney has crafted an intimate song that compliments the themes of the film and serves as a final grace note to the moving story.
Reflecting on his reaction to the film, McCartney said, "I could definitely identify with Robert De Niro's character because I have grown-up kids who have their own families."
Miramax Films will release Everybody's Fine in theaters nationwide on December 4.
LYRICS
I WANT TO COME HOME

For so long
I was out in the cold
And I taught myself to believe
Every story I told
It was fun hanging onto the moon
Heading into the sun
But it's been too long
Now I want to come home
Came so close
To the edge of defeat
But I made my way in the shade
Keeping out of the heat
It was fun shooting out of the stars
Looking into the sun
But it's been too long
Now I want to come home
Home where there's nothing but sweet surrender
To the memories from afar
Home to the place
Where the truth lies waiting
We remember who we are
For too long
I was out on my own
Every day I spent trying to prove
I could make it alone
It was fun hanging onto the moon
Heading into the sun
But it's been too long
Now I want to come home
For so long
I was out in the cold
But I taught myself to believe
Every story I told
It was fun hanging onto the moon
Heading into the sun
But its been too long
Now I want to come home
Yeah it's been too long
Now I want to come home
Been too long
Now I want to come.

There's so many things going on in my life with my family, this song REALLY pulled on my heart. It made me want to go back to the times when my kids were young (I have 4 also) and things were so much simpler. God be with those in need who feel the spirit of this song taking them back as well! Thx n God Bless Paul for such a heartfelt song! U R an amazing talent!

  • Paul is simply the best. Still going strong.

  • So Beautiful! What a song. I would not be surprised at all if he was thinking of his internal and forever home, Linda, when he wrote this. Great vid

  • good movie - good song. i had never heard this before until the end of the movie. i really enjoyed both.

  • we are truly priveliged to have shared our time with the greatest of all musicians

  • Heard at end of movie. As soon as the first line was sung I knew it was Paulie. I hadn't heard this before. The lyrics are so close to his heart. Made me cry - yeah I'm in my late 50s and follow his music.
