According to new census figures released nearly one in two Americans are now considered poor or lower income. According to the Commerce Department, the financial sector now makes up a larger part of our economy than it did before the recession currently coming out to 8.4% of GDP. And our Congress is once again on the brink of letting the government shut down. Mark Ames, editor of The Exiled joins the show.

  • he should define "ugly"..

  • @CrystalsandCandles

Couldn't care less about party affilliation. Just don't let anybody get cozy in there.

And repeal all these permanent salaries and benefits they enjoy (for life) even after serving one term.

We have way more power at the voting booth than we realize. There is no excuse to tolerate any "career" politicians.....ever. That one's on us, the voter.

  • I LOVED reading EXILE back in a day RT should hire Mark he is hilarious, he is straight talker and he was a strong critic of Putin. RT plz hire Mark & Yasha Levine. PLZ

  • @CrystalsandCandles you fail to realize that occupy is a revolutionary movement. Thats WHY there's no "one clear demand" the entire system needs to go.

  • Whats awesome for Alyona is that she invited a guy from the Exiled onto her show. That's relevant because the Exiled is one of the few websites that is genuinely challenging the Russian government's claims that the protestors there are insignificant stalinists with no valid concerns about the elections.

Since RT is an arm of the russian government establishment, obviously they propagate whatever the administration says without even talking to the protestors to ask them why they're protesting.

  • Occupy. A worthy movement. But too little, too late. Now they are merely a fuse. The Corporate have us by the short and curlys (unless you have a Brazilian) There is only one response left. Ugly indeed. Kudos to Alyona and to Mark Ames for trying. Stay low and zig zag

  • I'm an occupier, and I must say, Revolutions ain't pretty.

  • @rubbersole79 You're kidding, right? That was the same battle cry in 2008 which got us a GOP dominated House of Representatives. And that changed things how? Or do you consider Tea Partiers something different than hard line Republicans?

  • @mrzack888 Soon.

  • we need to vote all the wortless politicians OUT!!!!!
