Tryste demonstrates her somewhat unusual but highly effective crochet technique on a mini-version of the Vintage Vertical Stripe afghan. Verbal garbage spouted enthusiastically by Tryste and Miss Schnazzy Shaolyn.

  • WOW! i can only hope to aspire to your speed level! the blanket im doing would be a breeze if only i could reach such speeds! lol

is that a double cochet stitch ( UK triple stitch)

in each space or stitch? lovely colours on it! x

  • @LittleMissJennifer84 - Thanks! :-) I've been crocheting over 20 years, so I guess the speed is due to muscle memory. And yep, the stitch is US double, UK triple stitch, and I'm crocheting into the spaces between the stitches of the row below. The pattern is from the Vintage Vertical Stripe blanket.

  • what stich are you using? im a beginner and you make it look so easy... im wanting to make one for my niece

  • @precyshjewyl86 - it's just basic double crochet (US term - the Brits call it treble crochet, dunno where you're from, so I thought I'd better be specific just in case!) The whole pattern I'm using for the piece is called the Vintage Vertical Stripe Crochet afghan.

  • lol, I love the strange comments you made in the video. (the sound of plastic and yarn... mmmm.) hahaha. I get like that when I crochet too... I just spout some stuff that didn't go through the mental processes section of my brain first. :P

  • It's the yarn fumes that make us crazy ;-)

  • The singing at 1:46 ... lol... ridiculous. I love it.

  • Hey! This is neat! I also hold my yarn like that and I have found it to be very comfortable.....good job!

  • So not fast

  • That's the double stitch. Man, that's Ok, but your not really not teaching people, if they didn't already know how to do it.

  • my mom goes faster than this while watchin tv!, she only looks down at her work every 5 minutes or so, maybe more. shes pretty amazin ^_^

  • One has to love the fact that you chose Khatchaturian as the accompaniment in your heads...Bravo.
