'I Remember You' Fay Claassen Jan Wessels trumpet, Karel Boehlee piano, Hein Van de Geyn bass, John Engels drums. Odeon Theatre Amsterdam. On album 'Two Portraits of Chet Baker' Vol 2. BMCD 488 or double album BMCD 497 Label: Jazz'NPulz.
Cool but yeah bottom line is that trumpet solo is way too repetitive ... just restating the same material and approach (rhythmically and harmonically) for too long.
She needs to listen to Chet and his phrasing, this sounds so corny. Same goes for trumpet player . Hein Van de Geyn is one of the best bass players in Europe.
Very Good!!
