This is real, its called a Moab Switch, "motorized air brake" its used to interupt electric flow in power plants, for when they do repairs or maintenance etc. The electricity is trying to maintain contact, as the switch opens, which is done by someone actually standing below it and hand cranking it open or newer systems are done by computer.
