they have a heavy slavic influence, but the band is from denver, colorado. my friend used to live in the same building as the violinist, they'd hear her practicing at night sometimes.
the name stems from 'a clockwork orange' - де́вочка in russian.

Doesn't it mean "The Little Girl" or just "Little Girl" in Russian?
-
The name of this song means "Moon Chase" (лунная погонка). Is one of the members Russian?

Yeah, had never heard of these guys before Bonnaroo...my friends all bitched out on me, so I watched this entire show alone...Amazing!

this video has been added to the devotchka web site under press > bonnaroo. Thanks for taping/sharing. Did you happen to catch Sarah Slean at this festival too?

The best band I saw at Bonnaroo, hands down.
Devotchka means girl in Russian. It has nothing to do with A Clockwork Orange.

@ganatomy71 Right. Except for the fact that the word is used several times in the narration of the film. :)

Don't think so - they are all from the states, but I think the name Devotchka is Russian too - used in A Clockwork Orange.
