Friday, November 16, Operation: Battlecruiser Online begins. A guy from wired magazine was doing a piece on the PN, so he tagged along and got to see how bad the fascist lindens really are. As things began to wind down, I show up. Realizing I had missed the majority of the raid, I decided to finish and test my latest super weapon, the Sim Sinker. It works by using a couple functions that check if a player/simulator is online or offline. By doing this, I can plant hundreds, thousands of silent mines all over the grid and when those bombs detect that my player has went offline or a specified sim has went down, KA-BOOM. Within roughly 5 to 6 seconds, I simultaneously crashed in the region of 100 to 200 Sims. While I may have only planted around 100 of those bombs, I had set up seeders to bounce around the grid and spread the lulz. After 30 some minutes of this, I went off to have some fun before I was banned. I should mention again, all these bombs were checking every 2 seconds to see if my player has went offline or if the trigger sim is down. So if I don't trigger the bombs and a linden bans me, they will still go off. In the Other parts of the video, (mostly the parts with spengbebs, lulzturtles, and the Mario's) was just me goofing around before I tore the grid a new asshole.


I should also mention that this is only the precursor to project /b/lackout. AKA, MOAR TO COME.

Actually, Havoc4 is tighter code than Havoc1 and presents a lot less load on the servers. There are going to be some new features, like Windlight was, that add load to the *client* side, so crashing clients may be easier. But the servers much tougher to crash than before and using tortured prims and unlinking bombs are now just annoying. Can still crash clients, but that's more one-on-one than knocking a whole region out.

Guess what, you could have the best program code in the world but it doesn't do you any good when your servers running the software can barely support it. Yea, sure they purchased some duo chips, big deal. This also won't do shit because all the old hardware will just bottle neck all the extra power you should be getting. All in all, linden labs doesn't do anything right, they just keep throwing more band width at any given problem hoping it will stop it, and the pesky plumbers.
