This 5th part of my series takes you to the area of Hastings Old Town where the Foyle's War television series is filmed. If you are a big fan of the programme, I'm sure you will find this interesting. There's also footage of The Olde Pump House, one of the oldest pubs in England and the hustle and bustle of George Street. I found you video today and it brought back some great memories to me. It so happens that I worked in Ye old Pump House and the pup oppisite , The Anchor Inn, when Brian and Hilda Richardson had it many years ago. It was a wonderful time. I was in the Anchor when I was married to my wife, Mandy. Now i'm talking about 36 years ago, lol. Do you know them from back then or were you too young?? lol. Thanks for the memories Maybrick44. Hi I just discovered your videos this weekend. My mother lived in the house that you featured 34 Court Street. She lived there 60 years ago and it used to be 2 houses that are now one. It was a Bed and Breakfast then run by my Grandmother called Dun Roming. We were thrilled to see the streets my mom grew up on....we have photos of them standing in front of the house. So exciting!!!! I hope to travel there this year to see in Hastings in person. Good Job!!!!

Hastings is wonderful and has heaps of character. However the Pumphouse Pub was built in the 1970s, I know this because my neighbour Reg who is a fisherman in the Old Town, his mate Arthur woked on the construction. If you look carefully at the architecture, the windows don't match and the fireplaces are not in keeping with any of the building or the 17th century. The Stag in All Saints Street is old and original.

You are right, that is the house. I'm a real fan of Foyle's War so thanks for showing me the house and some of Hastings. I was born there 53 years ago but now live in Sydney. Love the seagulls as a constant soundtrack ; )
