This is a 1955 Johnson Sea Horse 10 Horse Power Motor. I bought this not running in one day it was put back in service. It only needed the carb cleaned, new gaskets, two new coils, impeller, and bottom end oil changed. Please always remember to mix your oil 34 to 1 as these older motors need it. I used 30 weight NON-DETERGENT oil. If you do that your motor will be happy and probably outlast your lifetime. These old motors are not only reliable but very inexpensive and easy to repair. They are well worth the time and are real head turners when running out on a lake. Some of these can be bought from $100 to $500 depending on condition. These motors were built in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Under the OMC name.

  • Five hundred bucks? No frickin' way! Especially without new paint and "deccals".

  • Great Looking Runner!! Did you get what you were asking for it?

I picked up a '56 15hp Seahorse and was looking for a ball park figure to ask for it..

Beautiful machines, with a little elbow grease they're able to be kept good as new :)

    Cheers from Midwest US.

  • That motor is a 1954, and the tank was Evinrude.....I know its an older vid, but I had to speak......and at $500 I have a fortune in my garage then.....

  • ok people! no need for the perverted comments! as for the video, great motor. looks like u take care of it and keep it clean.

  • Nice motor mate !

    Cheers from downunder

  • You NEED to use modern TCW-3 oil in that motor, it lubricates much better than 30 weight non detergent oil. Also, the correct mix is 24:1, not 32:1.

  • Lonely nights,

    dim the lights,

you, your hand and your johnson

  • my johnson is WAY bigger than that

  • An amazing motor !

  • My Johnson is longer then that one and bigger.
