  • I have a couple of questions, if you might offer a few words of advice to a prospective buyer.

Obviously it's insanely expensive and I don't want to buy it if the Electro Rack will do the job! In your opinion is there adequate difference to justify the (almost comedy) price?

how is it playing organs etc with weighted keys? It might be too much to ask, but can you use the layering to control eg the organ, from an external midi controller?

is there any editing function in the synth section?

Depends on what you want from it... the piano samples are better, the action is good and the sounds are usable and playable. It is essentially two keyboards in one with duplicate of every sound available(assignable to another keyboard)

organs are impossible to use on this piano action(imo) however there is a stage compact availible for a lot cheaper with semiweighted keys (all other functionality intact.) you can easily assign the organ (or if using the compact the piano) to any other keyboard.

  • doesn't the weighting of the keys vary with each instrument. i heard the weighting changes slightly or alters when the note is heard. The catalog said that a piano would actually play differently than an organ or clavinet.

  • the keyboard trigger point raises on the clavinet and organ sample..

however i don't think (and i have found this problem gigging) that you can play stylistically convincingly with the weighted keys. - i Have a clavinet c1 and hammond L100 and so base this opinion purely on direct comparison.

  • and vise-versa with the Organ sounds on the nord stage can i up put them sounds from the stage and play them through the Nord electro for the feel of the Waterfall keys..

  • the great thing about the nord stage is it's multitimbral.

there are two synth engines thereforeyou can either layer or split upto six sounds (two of each section) on the one keyboard or use another keyboard to trigger them, i sold my electro when i bought the stage(minor regret now though because of sheer portability!) hope this helps
