This makes sense to me. But I'm wondering - we often hear about karma as a neutral but immutable law, like gravity.
I can see that an otherwise virtuous person might find themselves in hell if they torment themselves over some small moral lapse or character flaw. But what if someone commits a heinous act, but feels no guilt, no conscience, either because they don't know it's wrong or because they are sociopathic. Do they thereby avoid the sufferings of "hell"?
