A few of the nearly 60 people who spoke about restricting teen books at the June, 2009 West Bend library board meeting quoted scripture. At the end of the three-hour meeting, the library board voted unanimously to keep the YA books where they are. While parents have the right and responsibility to monitor what their own children read, the board said, they do not have the right to determine what other parents' children should read.

  • God's laws do not apply in civil government. If this speaker wants a library that is managed according to the Bible, then he can set it up. He's worried about kids who are exposed to the books in question? I worry about kids exposed to the likes of him. I pray they aren't damaged for life.

  • The reality is, if there is a God, people have gotten it wrong. Especially this guy, who can't even understand the people around him.

  • "One day they'll meet an almighty God, who says that he is angry with the workers of inequity..."

    You mean people like you?

  • Show this to a teenager...so they know what they are up against

  • The Bible looks like it started out as a game of Mad Libs.

  • This is why we need to try to get these religious loons to understand that the Bible is no more credible then any other religious book out there!

  • Amen.
