Diet Coke and Mentos Expiriement

So I was at Jared's house and we decided to start our day with a bang! We wanted to do the diet coke and mentos expiriement. The first one was ok but we needed more! So we wanted to make a rocket, but that did not go as plan...

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: A roll or box of Mentos® mints
2-liter bottle of diet soda (diet or regular soda will work, but I prefer diet soda because it is easier to clean up cause it is less sticky)
A tube (or someway to have your mentos drop in the coke perfectly in a split second)

SCIENCE: When you drop the Mentos into the soda, the gelatin and gum arabic from the dissolving candy break the surface tension. This disrupts the water mesh, so that it takes less work to expand and form new bubbles. Each Mentos candy has thousands of tiny pits all over the surface. These tiny pits are called nucleation sites - perfect places for carbon dioxide bubbles to form. As soon as the Mentos hit the soda, bubbles form all over the surface of the candy.
