You would LOSE YOUR MIND if you saw my house. There is not ONE room you can walk through. I have eight kids/two grandkids. Six boys are still at home. SO many boxes/bags. But, out of each box, I usually end up with literally only 5-10 items I want to keep. It is overwhelming.

@PlaymateMama I know it can be overwhelming! Go for a very short walk, clear your mind, then just start on a counter and clear it. You can do it girl! PUT THOSE KIDS TO WORK...seriously-get a whistle...:)

Alright, I'm gonna go try and do a "50 purge" (instead of running out to the "after Christmas sales" and filling up my house even more). When I get in these moods I always tell my husband, "Gotta strike while the iron is hot" as I rush past him with my trashbag. Thanks for the motivation!

@Grace88Anderson I had an Aunt who literally SAVED everything! Even little stupid things, like McDonald's toys. I can't live like that. If it is not used and loved, it goes. Even thrift stores can't use those things.

I'm always purging stuff. I keep a box in the closet and as I come across things I don't want any more, I put them in the box. When the box gets full, it goes to goodwill.

I used to know someone years ago who worked at a thrift store for a short time and she always hated it when people would try to donate tiny random thinks like really small rattles that really go with something or even when they don't. She says that no one picks them up and they end up getting trashed anyway. Sometimes things really just are garbage. :)
