"Corbies" off Steeleye Span's 16th album, Time. It is based on an old english folk ballad where some ravens discuss what's for lunch. Dead knight. That's what's for lunch.

This one is for Kai, whose "joie de vivre" is at an end. Dance in hell with sigmar :P

  • Prior to yesterday, I hadn't heard SES in nearly seven years, ever since the death of most of the renfraires in my area.

this did not stop me from singing it at a good volume while chopping wood and getting it under cover so we can run a fire during Christmas. almost a week ago.

you know a song is good when...

you can still remember all the lyrics and the melody years later.

  • Thanks for posting this version... I have been looking for it forever since I only had it on an old tape. <3

  • hehe Gotta love this, use to play hours of Steeleye Span while getting ready for a Faire, or pounding out Armor in the Armory...makes for some great background music.

  • damn every version I hear of this tune just takes me into that zone :D

    love it!
