Yeah....Soupy. That's the name of this song recorded by Maggie Thrett in 1965. She's also an actress. You might have seen her on original Star Trek as well as other appearances in the late 60s. So, groove to this funky soul tune and imagine you're in outer space!

Great record! The lyrics may be nonsensical, but it sounds amazing! Maggie Thrett also released "Lucky Girl" on Take 3 Records in 1964 (under her birth name, Diane Pine). Are there any other Maggie Thrett recordings out there? (A July 1965 article in Billboard suggests that "Walk On By" was another DynoVoice single by Maggie, but I haven't found any evidence of it anywhere else.)

Walsh explains that his human "cargo" are destined to be wives for settlers on Ophiuchus III. Dr. McCoy notices a strange reading on his Sickbay medical panel when Ruth walks in front of it. He has her walk past it again and asks whether she's wearing some exotic perfume or something radioactive. Ruth innocently replies, "No, I'm just me," and leaves Sickbay while McCoy remains baffled by his medical panel.

Since I heard this tune years ago I was desperate for the 45 but parting with cash was a big decision... Obviously I still bought it... and she's HOT!
Awesome!!
