In early 2009, a small team of Oxfam staff from the UK visited Char Atra in Bangladesh. While they were there, they learned how unpredictable weather - brought on by climate change - is making life more and more difficult for this small island community.

In August 2009, the same team is set to travel back to Bangladesh to see how the villages is getting on, and to find out how your support is helping people cope during the coming monsoon season.

As we prepare to return, we're taking your questions and messages, which we'll pass on when we go back.

This is a one-off chance to show your support as the people of Char Atra face the hardship of the coming monsoon rains.

  • this is sunny from USA, i'm extremely proud to learn that there are such caring people like you. i'm originally from bangladesh and my native village is also being destroyed by the river. alas, those people don't have enough technology to protect their houses. you're such an awesome, benevolent, amicable humanbeing who's always with the ones that're looking for solace. i extol and give you my best honor.... please continue forward with your work and may Allah bless you.... :)
