To explore and encounter your consciousness has nothing to do with "being drugged". Don't stigmatize something you obviously have no clou about. Besides: Balance and Christopherson were themselves psychonauts, they touched the ether. And before you do, dont dare to blame someone for his or her attitude to life and the human condition.
