  • @mercatorize So where are your compositions? You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about, and I seriously doubt you have the musical or mental capacity to pass judgement on Mossi's music. I seriously doubt you would ever even come close to composing something in the the caliber of Mossi's music. Go ahead, prove us wrong, show us how much better your compositions are than Mossi's.

  • @mercatorize: Sure, all great music can - eventually, after analyzing it thoroughly enough - be reduced to more or less clever use of harmonies and of melodic and rhythmic devices. But that's not really the point, is it? The point is that Mossi created a very rich and moving piece of music, especially the 3rd movement, which gives great joy to most who hear it. Theoretical analysis surely has its place, but to give it such prominent important in aesthetic judgement is to my mind a dead end.

  • I am not so impressed. I hear a clever harmony-exercise and continuous I-IV-V sequences. The playing is outstanding!

  • Your two videos for this one composer's piece of music is wonderful :)

I wonder if there are any more recordings of Mossi's music?

  • the slow movement belongs with the best of the barock.thanx to H101 for this..
