My first attempt at recording on my brand new fretless Mountain Banjo from Bisbonian Banjo Works. Learning to play fretlessly is a challenge, but I wanted to get a sound file of the banjo up.
The banjo is made of Walnut and Maple, and has a 6" goatskin head, friction pegs made of walnut to keep the look going.
The tuning is a low Double A (Double C down 3 frets) on Aquila Nylgut Minstrel strings.
(The tuning given here is correct - I messed up in the notes in the video.)

  • Great Banjo, BanjoBrad...very good for your first fretless video.....

  • Thanks for the tune. I would have commented last night, but after watching, I had my banjo out working out this gem for myself. You are sounding pretty good on that fretless

  • Thanks for putting this up, Brad...great to see it!

(You can trim those strings off any time you think the stretching has settled down ;)
