The hardening into orthodoxy is probably the greatest trap mankind has ever faced during the long evolution of human consciousness. The ramifications have permeated throughout world history resulting in the vanity of social status, the convenience of religious belief systems, the readiness to accept authority as the source of truth and the devaluation of the individual experience. Such blinkering of society is not without purpose, driven by greed we lurch along corralled by fear and expectation.
