Here is my response to Obama's State of the Union Address. Oh - and if the Republican Party had even just a little sense, they would have selected Ron Paul to give the dissenting address; but of course, they didn't.

  • what will happen if we pull out of Afghanistan with in the next 3-6 months?

  • It wouldn't be pretty; there would almost certainly be a major struggle for power, maybe even a civil war... but I think over the long-run it would work itself out in a few years. No, it wouldnt be a democratic government; but neither are a whole lot of other governments around the world. You can't force that system on everyone. I do believe, however, that if we ended our policy of occupying and bombing foreign nations, we would be a whole lot less hated around the world

  • why do u always say most Americans?? r u positive?? U can say "i don't by into this garbage" or "many Americans don't by into this garbage" but it is misleading if u say most Americans...you can generalize sometimes and be a little vague..but you speak well

  • Thanks for the tip; you're right, saying "most Americans" is overgeneralizing, so I'll try to avoid doing that

  • Bunch of things I wanted to point out.

First, one can hate an action but still understand its requirement. For example the need to amputate a limb to counter act the spread of gangrene. This is all Obama meant by his hatred of the stimulus package.

Second, yes it is true that the stimulus most likely killed some jobs but on the whole it protected more jobs than those that would have been lost. As he pointed out, these job loses would have been due to more companies folding due to bankruptcy.

  • @ouroboros314 - I think we have to wait and see how things unfold before we declare prematurely that the huge banker bailouts stabilized the financial system... it may have put a temporary band-aid on the situation, but did it really solve any of the intrinsic problems behind our financial system? Our nation's banking system is as insolvent as it was before the crisis... lets wait and see how things pan out

  • "Capital was taken FROM the private sector to go to the public sector". This is a LIE. People and businesses HAVE NOT been as lightly taxed as they are currently. ALL money spent has been DEFICIT spending. The rich have never had it as good.

*one exception* - property taxes - costs of doing things have gone up - teachers, police and sanitation workers like being paid a salary in which they can live on - and we NO LONGER tax the rich the way we use to - hence working people pay for it.

  • Something to consider - MUCH of Obama's deficit spending was to compensate for damage done by Bush's deficit spending. If not for the former, much of the latter would not have been necessary.

  • Can't you HATE the bank bailout and find it UNFORTUNATELY NECESSARY?

Just a thought. Seems like some people need to think more.

  • Hello?

  • Though I disagree with your ideas about the War.... otherwise... Two Thumbs Up

  • Two Thumbs UP!!!!

  • Obama hated the fact that we hadddd to bail out the banks. it had to be done but he wasn't happy that they had to do it in the first place is what he was getting at. I have the same opinion. if we hadn't bailed them out- let me ask you this, did you learn about the great depression in high school.

  • unfortunately it's not blatantly obvious to most americans at this point, but slowly becoming as obvious as it was in 1836 when andrew jackson closed the central bank and stated "The bold efforts the present bank has made to control the Government... are but premonitions of the fate that awaits the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution, or the establishment of another like it."

we need to default on this debt, and remonetize gold NOW

  • Great video! Very estute. There is so much hypocrisy and contradiction in this administration, it 's stunning. If I hear one more liberal say "give him time", or "its all Bush's fault, I'm going to shove their teeth down their throat.
