We have to put political pressure on the Congress & the DOJ to bring these criminals to justice. How many people were run out of the government because of this policy to torture ? How many people were killed due to this policy ? How easy would it be for the powers that be to allow torture of the citizens of the US, now that the law is no longer followed ? We aren't on the edge of the slippery slope, we are riding the slide. If the law doesn't apply to the selected few, that is tyranny.
