@CerebralContusion it's a lot different in a lot of ways. wrestling is supposed to represent a sporting event in some way and give the illusion of realism. nobody believes that dinosaurs still exist and everybody knows what movies are. pro wrestling has to give the illusion that it might be real. it's supposed to be a live sporting event or it used to be considered that at least. it's a lot different than movies.

@CerebralContusion Well, it's because people are conditioned to not believe what they see in movies. People are jaded for whatever reason when it comes to pro wrestling because once upon a time, people knew it to be real. Not the case anymore. It's kind of shitty that people don't believe, and want to ruin it for people who want to believe.

@CerebralContusion Amen! Also, nobody ever accuses Jackie Chan/Jet Li of being in "fake" fights, and yet both those men practice and choreograph for HOURS just for a single short scene.
Wrestlers just go out their and do it, occasionally for as long as an hour at a time. Most of their moves actually hurt, but they suck it up and carry on.
Pro-wrestling is PRE-DETERMINED. It is NOT FAKE. Anyone who says it is fake is a fucking moron who does NOT know what they are talking about.

In my opinion, I don't think wrestling is ANY MORE "fake" (OR "real") than say, the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park and/or the shark in Jaws-and YET, NO ONE says ANYTHING or MAKES A BIG DEAL about those movies being "fake."
