learn how to make your own deodorant. It is cheap, easy and works just as good as any store bought product.

All you do is mix all ingredients together and rub a little bit under your arms. It will absorb moisture, eliminate odor and it doesn't make your skin feel waxy or leave a white residue.

All you need to make a basic deodorant: * 1 part baking soda * 1 part sea salt (always try to stay away from table salt) * just enough coconut oil to make a stiff paste

optional ingredients: * a couple of drops of tea tree oil because it is antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal * vitamin E, a couple of drops is good enough * Whatever essential oil you enjoy for fragrance

  • Salt helps to kill the bacteria, like gargling salt water when you have a sore throat. Yes, when I am sweating a lot I will either use just sage oil or I will use the sage oil and also the deodorant; I use two or three drops straight out of the bottle. You could definitely put it in the mixture, I just really like the strong smell. Clary sage I haven't tried, but since my herb shop now only carries clary, I am going to have to try it; I will let you know how it works out.

  • Hi I did this deodorant the thru is the it didn't work... I suet like crazy but thanks anyway

  • @beka504 Yeah if I am too sweaty it doesn't work the best; instead I use a little sage oil and it works great, of course you have to like the smell of sage.

  • Do u know if this can be unscented?

  • @debrakadabra1829 Absolutely, you can make it in whatever way you choose. Really you can get away with simply a little baking soda; that is how I started out.

  • can u make this w/ out the baking soda by using arrowroot powder instead?

  • @19Brooklyn84, I don't know. I would think that adding arrowroot would soften it a bit. Let us know how it works if you give it a try.

  • I made mine with optional ingredients I added some drops of body lotion / almond oil and tea tree oil instead of coconut oil because here in Brazil it's very expensive ( even my country being one of the greatest coconut producer)I know it sounded crazy but it worked anyway

I dont smell and the most important I'm not blocking my pores with aluminum and retaining toxins that cause breast cancer

  • ALSO - it wont really get rid of the wetness. That is not natural for your body. It is important for your body to release those toxins!

  • ADORE...your black marble mortar and pestle.

  • Just an FYI, tea tree oil is an estrogen booster and could potentially have side effects after prolonged use. Same goes for lavender oil. I'm not saying don't use it, just be careful.

  • @woodsyrat Your arm pits are the most absorbent part of your dermis, meaning anything you put there goes straight into your blood stream. Coconut oil is incredibly good for the human body, especially human skin and hair. Crisco, not so much for a number of reasons. The ingredients in regular deodorant should be avoided, and if one shouldn't eat Crisco I'm gonna say putting it in your armpit should be avoided too.

  • put this stuff in the fridge during the summer

  • Hey there. I have some quick questions re your video. Why do you include salt in the mixture? I tried using just baking soda and water, but I smelled musty after moving boxes at work. I tend to sweat a lot and you said that you use sage oil if you are sweaty, can you just put it into the mixture? Are sage oil and clary sage oil the same thing?

  • this is kind of similar to a natural, chemical/flouride-free toothpaste I make ^_^

  • your ring is dope!!!
