Pete Castle is a storyteller, folk singer and musician who kindly granted me an interview for my documentary about the history and mythology of the Peak District, Myth-Coverered Peaks. He performed the famous folk song The Derby Ram (or the Derby Tup as its known sometimes)- the full version doesn't appear in the final cut, but here it is complete with lyrics as the audio was not all that it could be.
This was filmed at Pickfords House Musuem, and many thanks to the staff there and at Derby Museum for their assistance.
Some children were having fun ringing bells during the performance, but it helps to imagine them as sheep-bells across the moorlands of Derbyshire.
